Fit-aroma MONGE VETSOLUTION FELINE DIABETIC contains psyllium husks, which delay gastric emptying and modulate nutrient absorption in the intestines. Although postprandial hyperglycemia is less pronounced in cats, its reduction can lead to a decreased need for exogenous insulin.

Psyllium is a bulk-forming laxative, rich in both fiber and mucilage. It effectively normalizes glycemic parameters in diabetes. The effect of psyllium on glycemia and hormonal parameters is not explained by weight loss or reduced food intake, but by delayed nutrient absorption facilitated by the gel-like substance formed by psyllium husks in the intestines.
Psyllium husks are ground and integrated during the pellet coating process to optimize efficacy without affecting the taste of the food.

PROTEINS:

CARBOHYDRATES:
The relatively high glycemic index of tapioca is regulated by limited gel formation and reduced absorption due to the mucilage created by psyllium.

MINERALS:
Since diabetes is more common in older cats (with a 73% increased risk in cats over 7 years old) and these cats are prone to renal failure, the phosphorus content is relatively lower compared to maintenance foods.
