COMPOSITION CHARACTERISTICS AND RATIONALE
Low RSS urine index (Relative Super Saturation) – to reduce the degree of urine saturation with struvites and calcium oxalate and create a solution with low metastability, which reduces the risk of new struvite and calcium oxalate crystal formation in the urine.

The feed is reduced in magnesium and phosphorus (components of struvite crystals) to prevent repeated formation of struvite crystals and stones.

A urine pH below 6.4 dissolves existing struvite crystals and reduces the risk of their recurrence.

High-quality and easily assimilable components ensure optimal use of nutrients, while simultaneously reducing the amount of feces. The moderate energy value of the food helps the cat maintain an ideal weight.

EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids that have a beneficial effect on the health of joints, skin and hair.

- SPECIFIC™ FCD-L Crystal Prevention is recommended to be divided into 3 or 4 meals per day to reduce the potential postprandial rise in urine pH.
- Struvite urolithiasis is just one of the many types of urolithiasis that occur in cats. It is extremely important to determine the type of stones in the bladder, as each type may require a different feeding strategy (see the urolithiasis control chart in the SPECIFIC™ feed technical information section).
- Thanks to its special composition and moderate energy value, SPECIFIC™ FCD-L Crystal Prevention food is also particularly well suited for sedentary cats and cats prone to obesity.
- The feed contains psyllium (sandy psyllium husks) and beet pomace (beet pulp), which promote gastrointestinal health.
- SPECIFIC™ FKD/FKW Kidney Support is recommended for the prevention of recurrent urolithiasis caused by calcium oxalate, ammonium urate or cystine deposits.
- Cats with recurrent idiopathic cystitis are better fed canned food (SPECIFIC™ FCW Crystal Prevention or SPECIFIC™ FXW Adult).
