COMPOSITION CHARACTERISTICS AND RATIONALE
Low RSS index in urine (Relative Super Saturation) – to reduce the saturation of urine with struvites and calcium oxalates and create a solution with low metastability, which reduces the risk of new struvite and calcium oxalate crystals forming in the urine.

The feed is reduced in magnesium and phosphorus (components of struvite crystals) to prevent repeated formation of struvite crystals and stones.

A urine pH below 6.4 dissolves existing struvite crystals and reduces the risk of their recurrence.

High-quality and easily assimilable components ensure optimal use of nutrients, while simultaneously reducing the amount of feces.

EPA and DHA are omega-3 fatty acids that have a beneficial effect on the health of joints, skin and hair.

- SPECIFIC™ FCW Crystal Prevention is recommended to be divided into 3 or 4 meals per day, as a result of which the possible increase in urine pH postprandial (after eating) is reduced.
- Struvite urolithiasis is just one of the different types of urolithiasis that occurs in cats. It is extremely important to determine the type of stone in the bladder, as each type may require a different feeding strategy (see the Urolithiasis Control Chart in the SPECIFIC™ Feed Technical Information section).
- Thanks to its composition and high energy value, SPECIFIC™ FCW Crystal Prevention food is also suitable for healthy adult cats with slightly higher energy needs. Easily assimilated and balanced components provide an adult cat with all the nutrients necessary for a healthy life.
- SPECIFIC™ FKD/FKW Kidney Support is recommended for the prevention of recurrent urolithiasis caused by calcium oxalate, ammonium urate or cystine deposits.
- For overweight cats prone to struvite urolithiasis, SPECIFIC™ FCD-L Crystal Prevention, SPECIFIC TM FXD Adult or SPECIFIC™ FRD Weight Reduction is recommended.
- Cats with recurrent idiopathic cystitis are better fed canned food (SPECIFIC™ FCW Crystal Prevention or SPECIFIC™ FXW Adult).

THE COMPOSITION
Pork, maize, sunflower oil, egg powder, fish oil, minerals, vitamins and trace elements (including chelated trace elements), psyllium husk, dextrose, xylose, methionine, cellulose powder, taurine, chondroitin sulphate. Contains no added artificial colours or flavourings.
