SPECIFIC™ Adult Cat FSW Struvite Dissolution, Wet Cat Food With Pork, 100 g

Food for dissolving struvite stones in the bladder, for short-term use.

This diet should be fed for 5 to 12 weeks only.

COMPOSITION CHARACTERISTICS AND RATIONALE
The feed has a reduced magnesium and phosphorus content (components of struvite crystals) to dissolve struvite uroliths and prevent repeated formation of struvite crystals and stones in the bladder.

Urine pH below 6.0-6.3 dissolves existing struvite crystals and reduces the risk of their recurrence.
The increased sodium content encourages cats to drink more. This contributes to a decrease in the concentration of minerals in the urine and more frequent urination.

EPA and DHA - are omega-3 fatty acids that have a beneficial effect on joint, skin and coat health.

- SPECIFIC™ FSW Struvite Dissolution daily intake is recommended to be divided into 3 or 4 intakes, as a result of which the possible postprandial increase in urine pH is minimized.
- Once the struvite stones have dissolved (usually within 1-2 months), the cat should be fed SPECIFIC™ FCD/FCW Crystal Prevention or SPECIFIC™ FCD-L Crystal Prevention Light for repeated struvite prevention.
- Cats with recurrent struvite urolithiasis are better fed canned food, because cats that eat canned food take in more water. As a result, the volume of urine increases, the amount of minerals in the urine decreases and urination is more frequent.
- Although bladder stones made up of magnesium-ammonium phosphate crystals (struvite crystals) are common in cats, they should not be considered the cause of all cases of urolithiasis. It is extremely important to determine the type of urolithiasis, as different feeding strategies are used for each type (see the urolithiasis control chart in the SPECIFIC™ feed technical information section).

In urolithiasis caused by calcium oxalate, ammonium urate or cystine deposits
If urine acidifying agents are used at the same time
In metabolic acidosis and acidosis caused by renal impairment
In case of heart failure, high blood pressure and edema
For kittens and female cats during pregnancy or lactation

Pork, fish, maize, sunflower oil, egg powder, minerals, fish oil, vitamins and trace elements (including chelated trace elements), ammonium sulphate, cellulose powder, psyllium, dextrose, xylose, ammonium chloride, taurine.
