Abilar VET Wound Ointment, 10ml

Abilar® VET contains 10% purified Picea abies resin.

It soothes itching and irritation caused by skin lesions and accelerates wound healing.

Abilar® VET can be used from insect stings and superficial scratches to bites and deep wounds.

It is also suitable for purulent inflammations and abscesses. Application of the ointment is painless.

Abilar® VET forms a protective film on the skin which does not dissolve even in moisture.

The taste of the ointment resin reduces the animal's desire to lick the wound.

Ingredients: Vaseline, liquid paraffin, Norway spruce (Picea abies) gum, denatured alcohol, microcrystalline wax, sorbitan oleate, beeswax, hydrogenated castor oil, stearic acid.

How to use: 

Clean and dry the wound area. In the case of stitching wounds, shaving the feathers from in and around the area to be treated accelerates the drying of the wound.

Apply Abilar® VET ointment directly to the wound or to a dressing you are applying to the wound.

If necessary, dress the wound every 1-3 days. The wound should then be cleaned and dried, Abilar® VET ointment applied and, if necessary, a new dry dressing applied.

Care should be taken to prevent the animal from licking the wound as this will slow down the saliva and may even prevent the wound from healing. If necessary, use an Elizabethan collar.

Abilar VET ointment should be continued until the skin lesion or wound has healed. The time needed for healing can vary from a few days to several weeks, depending on the depth of the lesion.
