Pestigon pipettes for dogs is the new antiparasitic spot-on Karizoo Laboratories for the treatment of infestations by fleas and ticks (also can be used as part of treatment for DAPP (Allergy Dermatitis flea bite).

Composition:
1 pipette 1.34 ml contains:
Active ingredient: fipronil 134 mg.
Excipients: Butylhydroxyanisole (E320) 0.268 mg Butylated hydroxytoluene (E321) 0.134 mg, Povidone K12, Polysorbate 80 Butyl alcohol diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.

Indications and species of destination:
Treatment flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) on dogs. The drug shows an insecticidal effect immediately and persistence against new infestations with adult fleas for 8 weeks.
The drug has efficacy against Ixodes ricinus acaricide up to 2 weeks up Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Dermacentor reticulatus 3 weeks up to 4 weeks. If there ticks of this species when the drug is applied, not all of them will be eliminated in the first 48 hours, but may be removed in a week.
The drug may be used as part of the treatment program of Flea Allergy Dermatitis, where this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.

Dosage & Administration:

Pipette 0.67 ml per dog whose body weight is 10-20 kg.

Hold it upright and give a tap to make sure that all the liquid content is within the main body of the pipette. Peel off the top by the dashed line.
Once opened, place the tip of the pipette directly against the skin and squeeze slowly empty its contents in 1-2 points along the spine.

It is important to ensure that the product is applied in an area where the animal can not remove licking, and also to ensure that if there are several animals do not lick each other following treatment.

Contraindications:
Do not use in dogs weighing less than 10 kg.
In the absence of available data, the drug should not be used on puppies less than 8 weeks old.
Do not use on sick (systemic diseases, fever ...) or convalescent.
This product is specifically developed for dogs. Do not use in cats, as this could cause an overdose.
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Special warnings:
Loratadine does not prevent the animal from being attacked by ticks, but the ticks may die 24-48 hours after snagging and before they have completely swollen blood so that the risk of disease transmission minimized. Once dead, ticks off the animal, but if there are any left, may be removed with a gentle tug.

When used as part of the treatment of Flea Allergy Dermatitis, monthly applications recommended for allergic patients and to other dogs that are in the home.
For optimal control of flea problems in a home with several pets, all dogs and cats should be treated with an appropriate insecticide.
Maybe the tick is attached. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases can not be eliminated completely if conditions are unfavorable. Fleas from pets often infest the animal's basket, bedding and regular resting areas such as carpets and cushions, which should be treated, in case of massive infection and the beginning of the control measures, with an insecticide adequate and regular cleaning with the vacuum cleaner.
Avoid frequent bathing or shampooing the animal because the drug's effectiveness has not been investigated in these cases.

Special precautions:
Avoid contact with the animal's eyes. In case of accidental eye contact, immediately flush eyes with water.
Animals should be weighed accurately prior to treatment.
It is important to ensure that the medicine is applied to an area where the animal can not lick it, and ensure that recently treated animals do not lick each other.
Do not apply the medication in wounds or skin lesions.

Precautions to be taken by the person administering the medicinal product to animals:
This medication may cause irritation to mucous membranes and eyes. Therefore, avoid contact of the drug with mouth and eyes.
In case of accidental contact with eyes, immediately flush eyes with water. If eye irritation persists, consult a doctor immediately and show the package leaflet.
People with known hypersensitivity to fipronil or any of the excipients should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product.
Avoid the substance comes into contact with the fingers. If it occurs, wash hands with soap and water.
Wash hands after using. Do not smoke, drink or eat during application.
Treated animals should not be handled until the application site is dry and should not allow children to play with treated animals until the injection point is dry. It is therefore recommended that animals are not treated during the day, but at sunset, and should not allow recently treated animals to sleep with owners, especially children.

Adverse reactions:
If the animal licks, one can observe a hypersalivation period mainly due to the nature of the excipient.
Among the extremely rare suspected adverse reactions have been observed transient skin reactions at the point of application (desquamation, alopecia local pruritus, erythema) and pruritus or general alopecia after use. In exceptional cases, it has been observed hypersalivation, reversible neurological signs (hyperaesthesia, depression, nervous signs) or vomiting.
Do not overdose.

Use during pregnancy, lactation:
Laboratory studies using fipronil have not shown any teratogenic and fetotoxic.
In the absence of studies to assess the safety of this drug in pregnant or lactating animals, use this medication only after benefit / risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian.

Presentation:
1.34 ml pipette, allowing transparent view contents and molded by a surface composed of three layers: a layer of polypropylene / COC / polypropylene foil lacquer-free solvent, and a layer of polyethylene / EVOH / polyethylene. The pipettes are sealed in envelopes resistant, composed of four layers of LDPE / nylon / aluminum foil / polyester layer.
